Focus Chambers is the chambers of Jeremy Woodward. I am regulated by the Bar Standards Board.
I am a barrister in sole practice with a focus on construction, property and business law (particularly where the subject matter is of a technical nature) for both English domestic clients and international clients where the applicable law is that of England and Wales.
I have experience as an accredited adjudicator, I am a member of the TecBar Dispute Resolution Board and was a Deputy District Judge (from 2010 to 2015).
I provide legal services via solicitors and also have extensive experience of providing legal services directly to large commercial organisations.
Services for Solicitors
I accept instructions from solicitors in any of my core areas of practice.
In addition to all traditional services I offer niche support to solicitors to supplement their own practices. This is particularly so in relation to specialist non-contentious construction drafting.
Instructions are accepted to appear in litigation (whether in the High Court or County Court), arbitration, adjudication and mediation as well as instructions to settle Statements of Case and other documentation relating to my core areas of practice.
I am happy to provide advice either in writing or in conference and will attend the office of the solicitor or the lay client in order to hold cost effective conferences.
Services Directly to Organisations
Public Access allows individuals and organisations to instruct a barrister directly on most civil matters and without the need for a solicitor.
I am happy to accept instructions in relation to advisory work, drafting and advocacy through Public Access and do so both for individuals and also for corporations with turnovers of many hundreds of millions of pounds.
