General Information
In common with all barristers I am regulated by Bar Standards Board.
I am governed by the Code of Conduct of the Bar of England and Wales which is available to view on the Bar Standards Board’s website.
When instructed by a solicitor I adopt the Bar Council’s Standard Contractual terms.
Where I accept instructions under the Bar’s Public Access scheme then my terms of acting will be agreed with my client and will follow the guidance given by the Bar Council. The Bar Standards Board publishes the Public Access Guidance for Lay Clients.
The timescale for providing services will vary depending on the nature of the instructions and any other pre-existing professional obligations.
Professional, licensed access, and/or lay clients may contact me to obtain a quote for legal services.
Services are provided most commonly on the basis of an agreed hourly rate but other charging structures are often agreed including fixed fees and, where appropriate, conditional fee agreements.
I hold professional liability insurance through the Bar Mutual Indemnity Fund Limited in respect of my practice.
My aim is to provide good service at all times. However if you have a complaint please let me know as soon as possible. My complaints procedure can be viewed on the Complaints page of this web site.
The Bar Standards Board also requires that I provide a link to the decision data on the Legal Ombudsman’s website and to the Barristers’ Registration page on the Bar Standard Boards website.
